The start at Butterman's Bay, just down river from Pin Mill is the best place to watch all entrants start over a half hour period. Other good places are Shotley Point, Felixstowe Dock Viewing Point, Dovercourt.

Check the Charter barge companies to see if there are any following the race.

The finish off Pin Mill is normally late lunch time, but weather, tide, etc., can affect this and this year's late start will mean a much later finish.
